70 Years of International Cooperation—The History and Future of JICA’s Cooperation

October 6 this year will mark the 70th anniversary of Japan’s international cooperation. Ahead of International Cooperation Day (October 6), the FPCJ has invited Dr. TANAKA Akihiko, president of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), to discuss the contributions Japan has made to 190 countries and regions since joining the Colombo Plan in 1954 by providing official development assistance (ODA) to developing countries, and the future of Japan’s ODA and JICA. The briefing was attended by many journalists both in Japan and overseas.
