The ESCO Rehabilitation Centre successfully hosted the ESCO Peace Art Exhibition on 27 September 2025, promoting peace, creativity, and togetherness among Sri Lankan youth. The event showcased diverse artistic talent and encouraged unity across communities.
The ESCO Peace Art Exhibition, hosted by the ESCO Rehabilitation Centre, was held on 27th of September, 2025 to celebrate peace, creativity, and inclusion among Sri Lanka’s youth.
The exhibition brought together over 400 children, teachers, and parents from across the island—including Jaffna, Kalutara, and other regions—and provided a platform for children of all abilities, including those with special needs, to showcase their artistic talents and share messages of hope and unity.
Organised by ESCO as part of its ongoing mission to support vulnerable and differently-abled children, the event featured colourful art displays, performances, and educational activities designed to foster mutual respect, understanding, and creativity.
In support of this meaningful initiative, HWPL volunteers played an active role throughout the day. Arriving early to assist with preparations, they helped set up sound and equipment, coordinated logistical tasks, and served as the English and Tamil MC, ensuring smooth communication between organisers and guests.
Throughout the event, the HWPL team supported food distribution, guided children and schools into their respective program sections, and provided language assistance in Sinhala and Tamil, which greatly enhanced communication with the diverse group of attendees.
A highlight of the day was HWPL’s collaboration with a recognised organisation supporting children with special needs. In recognition of the volunteers’ dedicated efforts, the Chairman of the ESCO Rehabilitation Centre presented HWPL with a Certificate of Appreciation, underscoring the organisers’ deep gratitude for the team’s contribution to the success of the exhibition.
Importantly, this event also laid the groundwork for future cooperation. HWPL secured confirmation to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ESCO, opening the door for continued collaboration and participation in upcoming initiatives supporting children and promoting peace.
The organisers of the ESCO Peace Art Exhibition expressed their admiration for the HWPL volunteers’ punctuality, efficiency, and warmth. Their contribution not only helped deliver a smooth, inclusive, and welcoming event but also strengthened partnerships aimed at fostering peace and inclusion in Sri Lanka.
