Federation of Indian Export Organisations and National Chamber of Exporters of Sri Lanka Sign MoU to Boost Bilateral Trade
The High Commission of India in Colombo facilitated talks between FIEO and NCE to strengthen bilateral trade and MSME cooperation in June 2025.

Colombo, Sri Lanka – August 19, 2025 – The Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) and the National Chamber of Exporters of Sri Lanka (NCE) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance bilateral economic partnership between India and Sri Lanka. This agreement, facilitated by the High Commission of India in Colombo, aims to create new opportunities for cooperation, particularly for the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector.
The virtual signing ceremony, held on August 19, 2025, marks a significant step towards fostering closer ties and identifying new avenues for collaboration, including information sharing and connecting businesses for trade and investment.
The agreement follows discussions initiated in June 2025 between representatives of the two organizations. The signing ceremony was attended by key leaders from both sides, including Dr. Ajay Sahai, Director General & CEO of FIEO, and Mr. Indra Kaushal Rajapaksha, President of NCE. Representatives from the High Commission of India in Colombo were also present to witness the virtual event.
This collaboration is expected to provide a platform for exporters in both countries to explore new markets, share best practices, and address challenges, thereby contributing to the growth of their respective economies.
