Koica Dispatched a Volunteer to Srilanka
Mr. Park Young Hyun, a KOICA WFK Volunteer, has been dispatched to the Colombo Public Library as a Korean language instructor under the sixth batch of the WFK Program in Sri Lanka, aiming to enrich community development and career growth.
On 07 th May 2025, a KOICA Volunteer arrived in Sri Lanka under the KOICA World Friends Korea (WFK) Program. This is the sixth (6) batch of volunteers that have been deployed towards the partner organizations in Sri Lanka, since the program resumed in June 2023.
The volunteer Mr. PARK YOUNG HYUN will be dispatched to the Colombo Public Library affiliated to the Western Provincial Council as a Korean Language instructor. The program is aimed to share Korean volunteer’s knowledge and experiences with the students of the Korean Corner at the Colombo Public Library and ultimately to make a change in the community directed towards career development and upliftment.
Mr. PARK YOUNG HYUN will be dispatched to his respective partner organization on 23 rd June 2025, after the completion of his local adaptation training in Colombo. At present there are thirteen (13) KOICA volunteers serving in the country and their activities are focused and aligned with the SDG goals and the Sri Lankan government priorities.
The Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), the Grant Aid Division of the Embassy of Republic of Korea is the Korean government agency for grant aids under the mission of “Leave no one behind with People-centered Peace and Prosperity.” KOICA Sri Lanka Office has been implementing its volunteer programs and variety of development projects and fellowship programs since 1991, in conjunction with the Sri Lankan Government, Korean NGOs, and International Organizations. vulnerable in society to overcome the current crisis.
