Sri Lankan Students Invited to Apply for Self-Financing Undergraduate Courses in India for 2026–27

The High Commission of India in Colombo has invited applications from eligible Sri Lankan students for MBBS, BDS, Engineering, Pharmacy, Architecture and other undergraduate programmes under the Self-Financing Scheme for the 2026–27 academic year.

The High Commission of India in Colombo has invited applications from eligible Sri Lankan students for admission to undergraduate programmes in India under the Self-Financing Scheme for the 2026–27 academic year.

The opportunity is open to Sri Lankan students only and does not apply to PIO/OCI card holders or Non-Resident Indians (NRIs).

Courses offered under the scheme include MBBS, BDS, BE, B.Tech, B.Pharm, B.Arch, Diploma in Engineering, and Diploma in Pharmacy.

Applicants seeking admission to MBBS and BDS programmes must have secured at least the 50th percentile in the NEET examination. In addition, candidates should have obtained a minimum of 50% marks each in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English at the G.C.E. Advanced Level examination.

Students applying for BE, B.Tech and Diploma in Engineering programmes must have secured at least 60% marks each in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, together with a minimum of 50% in English at the G.C.E. Advanced Level.

For admission to B.Pharmacy and Diploma in Pharmacy courses, candidates are required to have a minimum of 60% marks each in Physics, Chemistry and Biology, along with at least 50% in English at the G.C.E. Advanced Level.

Applicants interested in B.Arch programmes must successfully qualify in the aptitude test prescribed by the Council of Architecture, New Delhi.

Application forms can be obtained from the Education Wing of the High Commission of India in Colombo on working days between 2.00 p.m. and 4.00 p.m. Applicants are required to produce their G.C.E. Ordinary Level and Advanced Level certificates together with their Birth Certificate when collecting the application form.

The completed application forms, along with all supporting documents, must be submitted to the High Commission of India on or before July 24, 2026.
