Dr. Ruwan Perera’s 250+ Japanese Delegation Begins Sri Lanka Journey with Visit to Jaya Sri Maha Bodhiya

A delegation of more than 250 Japanese visitors, brought together under the initiative of Dr. Ruwan Perera and Little Japan, has begun its journey across Sri Lanka with visits to some of the island’s most sacred and historic Buddhist sites.

The delegation first travelled to Mihintale and Anuradhapura, where they visited several important locations, including the historic and sacred Jaya Sri Maha Bodhiya.

The visit has provided the Japanese group with an opportunity to experience Sri Lanka’s rich Buddhist heritage, history and cultural traditions. The delegation immersed itself in the island’s spiritual and historical heritage while visiting these significant sites.

Following their visit to the ancient cities, the group travelled onward to Habarana, marking the continuation of their cultural exploration of Sri Lanka.

The journey is expected to further strengthen the longstanding friendship and cultural ties between Japan and Sri Lanka, while giving the visitors an opportunity to experience the island’s diverse heritage and traditions.
